Alright, let's do this yeah?

1. Choose your favorite Top 10 tracks from 1 of your favorite artists. Any artists, any year, any genre. 10 tracks so that people can burn cd's if they'd like.

2. Compile them, zip them, up a link on http://www.mediafire.com and share them with your fellow Obner folks in this thread. If you wanna do up a cover, have at it.

3. Duplicate artists are cool because i doubt anyone will pick the exact same 10 tracks.

Sound interesting?

Take your time, sort through, have fun. No time limit, just post up your business when you got it.

I'll do it, but I really wonder how many Radiohead, DBT and Stones mixes we are going to get.

I'll up one later tonight.

Filing in the last 100 or so CD's into my main alphabetized collection which means I have to take a couple of thousand out which equals CD uproar.

For the record I'll do Sonic Youth.

Is there any way to upload to mediafire where when someone dloads my mix it doesn't just file away according to album.

For example, if I were to make a Luna mix, can I make it so when they file it, it will come up as Derris' Luna Mix or something?

OK, here's a band that I just happened to have a compilation handy to pull from...

The Vibrators

Yeah Yeah Yeah
Automatic Lover
24 Hour People
London Girls
Judy Says
You Broke My Heart
Baby Baby
War Zone
Whips and Furs
Fall In Love

70s English punk band with poppy tendencies. Probably most reminiscent of the Buzzcocks. A band I always think should be more prominently remembered than they are.

Change the album/track # tags. It's extra trouble, but that's what I do.

If you don't want to mess up your library, make duplicate files of the tracks in your mix and change the tags on those.

Edit: and I'm in, as soon as I can figure out what to make a mix of.

I'll try and think of one I haven't done before (Neil Young, Tragically Hip) and up it tonight. Fuck, maybe I'll do up some Black Oak or Izzy Stradlin'.

If I get a chance to do one, it'll prob. be either Fugazi, The Pogues or the Butthole Surfers.

On a similar theme - and for those of you who never go into the mix forum - there's always this.

I was thinking about that, too.
But, I'll take any excuse to make another single-artist mix that nobody will listen to.

I'll probably work a Residents* mix for all 'yall.

Steel yerself.

*because I was torn between the Residents and Sonic Youth. With someone else doing SY, that makes my decision easier.
