Love Noisetrade, and they have popped up a 25-track Josh Rouse "Summertime" sampler.

Quote:
For more than a decade, Josh Rouse has been honing his skills as a songwriter; traveling the world, blending his various experiences and channeling them into his work. With songs like "Directions" (which appeared in the Cameron Crowe/Tom Cruise collaboration Vanilla Sky) and "Flight Attendant" (which Glee creator Ryan Murphy hand picked for his Julie Roberts inspired version of Eat Pray Love), not to mention numerous appearances on television staples such as Grey's Anatomy and Parenthood; Josh's music has quietly found its way into the world and todays culture, while remaining timeless and relevant. Summertime, a 25 song sampler covering his most recent albums and EPs, includes a song from his new project, Josh Rouse and The Long Vacations, out on September 27th. You'll also get a taste of his Bedroom Classics Closet Archives series, a digital-only collection which features unreleased singles, radio sessions and live performances, available exclusively at www.joshrouse.com

Yeah, Noisetrade does a good job, but I dl'd that Rouse sampler this morning and it only confirmed how much I dislike almost everything he's put out since Nashville.

I was interested in some of those bedroom archives, and radio sessions. 10,000 downloads of this, btw in 15 hrs. Wow.

I'll agree he's gotten progressively worse since Nashville. I think I found about 3-4 songs redeemable on Subtitulo and only a couple on Country Mouse, City House (painful title). Didn't bother with the last one.

Still, if any artist is perfect for a summer sampler, it's Rouse. 1972 or Nashville are great relaxing by the pool music.

Wish they'd posted the track listing.

I agree, I think I've got all up to and with Nashville and heard those later efforts, I think Nashville is the right stop for me

I was crazed on his '72 and Stars albums but now he's one of those "the season of Josh Rouse" that I every now and then listen to, sort of like my Jackson Browne habit
