This has grown on me so much I'm getting the rock banana out.

What do you think? Favourite song so far?

I think I'd go with "Dead to Me" at the moment although the album is fully loaded. Fuck, I even love the ballad.

I'm on my first number of listens with it, but it's already up with the best of the year. "Another Girl" is the current fave. It's just so much bubblegum punk goodness - the closest to what King Louie was doing with Exploding Hearts. But it seems like one of those albums where the fave track could almost be any song.

This new Deer Tick is also a definite keeper. Almost hard to believe it's the same band.

Also, Adam Faucett's new album (unmastered/unreleased). Keep an eye out for this.

I read a review of this in Rolling Stone and it sounds like something I might like. What's your take?

Nashville represent. They're a fun live band. Just a bunch of raucous kids with 4 electric guitars going bananas.

Yeah, the band name gives a pretty blatant clue about the level of seriousness going on, and most of it is exactly how Stu described. I was finding it a fun one-listen-and-delete sorta thing, until the song "Babyhead" popped out of nowhere and I had to reassess. Under all the shits and giggles, there's a fairly serious talent buried here. I'm not sure which band member(s) it is, but something worthwhile is destined to emerge from this.

Yeah, theyve been playing a song or two off of that on XM and I like it. Begrudgingly because of the name.

I have their first EP and it's solid, a lot more lo-fi and ramshackle than what I've heard off the albums. I need to check this one out.

Sturgill Simpson - High Top Mountain
Son Volt - Honky Tonk
New American Farmers - Brand New Day
