Coming home this weekend from downtown, a guy got on the bus with a kickass Obama t-shirt, and I want one. Barry's face, with "YES WE CAN" above and below his head in those gansta gold letters, where it's like flat gold in the middle of the letters but super-sparkly around the outside edges.

This one is from last Monday.

I had the day off and went downtown to talk to my boss about how I'm going to need some time off for family stuff during the busiest week of the year at our arena. I was expecting a lengthy debate or argument where I had to throw down the gauntlet and threaten to quit, but he didn't seem to care about it, so I had to wait a little longer to catch the next bus back toward my apartment.
As I am waiting I am a interesting discussion about my music pins on my laptop bag with an old hippie dude who claims to have recorded with Jerry Garcia. Then I saw this developmentally disabled woman with a cast for a severely broken arm. She then went on to tell the story about how the bus for the line I used to ride on before they rerouted the system had ran her over at main bus stop. If someone wouldn't have alerted the bus driver, the back wheels would have ran over her torso and legs. I'm mildly disappointed I missed watching one of the drivers run someone down.

I LOL'ed.

Most of the summer, I took the motorcycle to work instead of the shuttle, because it was full of summer interns. So I haven't been on the bus much. But I'm back to 1 day a week of driving myself in, so hopefully some more good shit will present itself.



In the meantime, yesterday the Red Line did offer up a decent one, but I couldn't get a photo. HUGE dude, looked sorta polynesian, bald head, massive belly spreading across 2 subway seats, was sitting next to where I was standing. Out of the corner of my eye I kept seeing something flashing, something colorful, like he was waving it at me. So I looked down. He had rainbow-painted fingernails, and was digging (nay, drilling) into his nostrils by poking one finger up there and then rotating his open hand back and forth 180 degrees. Like you're waving at somebody, but your finger is lodged a few inches up your nose. And he looked... worried. Like maybe he wouldn't be able to reach it all, I guess. Either way he was trying really damn hard. He kept it up the whole 3 stops I was on. Shove, rotate, extract, inspect, and repeat.


I'm guessing he lost his keys up there? Fuck I wish I could've gotten a picture, but there was NO way. Shit would've been amazing.

Walking up out of the Red Line station last night, headed towards the bus stop, with Bloor's Frank Black Best Of in the headphones (man that one's got ahold of me). I was looking down mostly, not paying attention, because it's a long escalator and nobody else was on it. Right when I got to the top, I went to put my hand on the railing to step off, and almost grabbed this guy.





I almost sharted.

Man, I really didn't expect there to be a body right there. I assume he was sleeping. The picture's not super clear, but that's his ass you're looking at, with an untucked white shirt, and tan boots.

Even with an arrow, I can't see the man.
