I think gauchebag posted a website where you can buy scarves and other assorted team stuff from teams all over the world.

1. What is the url?

2. What's a good team to buy for my bro who lives in DC, but travels all over South America/Central America. (Recently to Argentina/Chile/El Salvador and Costa) -- he's never told me he has a squad, so I guess maybe its just who has a cool ass color scheme i can get him a scarf for?

For a national team, get an Argentina jersey. If you want a club jersey, go for Boca or River Plate jersey.

and NOT Mexico.

Not quite soccer but definitely "hooligan" related:

Argentina jersey will get you hung from a tree in certain neighborhoods.

you could try a brazilian team like sao paulo or corinthians as well. although river plate and boca are the perennial powers. ive always been a bit partial for nacional as well.

Some of the real soccer fans in South America can get a bit over zealous about supporting teams. Sometimes a big rival scarf could cause trouble in the wrong part of town. If you still wanna go South American, I'd agree with Boca as a personal fav, just 'cause they were Diego Maradonna's team. And if you wanna talk about a monger...there's your guy. Look him up. Boca's also the team of the rough part of town from what I understand.

My real suggestion though is a DC United scarf since he's from there. DC has also had some decent success in the Copa Libetadores, a tournament with teams from North, Central and South America. That way, he can support his hometown team, which I"m, in favor of if soccer fans actually want the US league to grow, and he's got a scarf of a US team that has taken a few South American scalps in its history. A few fans who really follow things closely may even recognize the team.

Philadelphia MLS's finest.

... Wait, Philly doesn't have a team. The fans travel well, though.

why go with an actual team--why not get an all encompassing soccer scarf. That way people know you're a fan.

The Ultimate Fan

nothing gets respect like a middle of the road scarf. It says "hey, I like soccer", but it doesn't swear allegiance to any squad. Kinda like Clint Eastwood in "The Good The Bad & The Ugly".

Eh...I was kinda being sarcastic. Sorry. It just strikes me as funny that there's a scarf on there that looks like it was made entirely of fabric from Walmart's craft section, right down to the scissored fringe.

Why stay on that continent where you may offend one club or country by wearing the wrong jersey?

just get him that ill france stuff i bought. incredible.

if it has to be some south american bullshit i'd go with boca probably, although i've always had a soft spot for sao paolo...botafogo would be cool too after last season.

argentina jerseys are really nice though, it's kind of a big statement to wear one though

You know, I think I am gonna go with a track jacket like the one you got, but from Sweden.

I bb messengered with my bro today and asked some vague questions and discerned that he is not a huge follower of soccer (I guess plays more than watches) but Sweden was his favorite country he has been to. (Probably a Noise Conspiracy thing if I had to guess)

Thanks for the help tho, guys.

Is Carling advertisement or the team name?

Either way, that's my beef with soccer jerseys. They always look like they're selling budweiser to me.

Thats the best part of the last Ipswich Town FC jersey i purchased.....Greene King Brewery....which is in Suffolk where i grew up and has some fantastic beer.....i could understand disliking most ads but that Greene King ITFC jersey is sweet.

i much prefer watching american football to soccer, but i'd happily root for the Yuengling Eagles if that meant that i didn't have to watch any commercials during the games.

and that green and white number is the jersey of Celtic FC of Glasgow. Carling (the alcohol makers) is their sponsor so their name is on the front, just like AIG sponsors ManU, Emirates Arsenal, etc etc

wish the pitch was as popular as craft beer & lonely friday nights around here. hardly 13th in the world, but always fun to witness US dickslap el tri, be it friendly or qualifier. officially forever gay for donovan. missed my blues loss to everton yesterday but confident they'll stay in champ league qualifying form through season's end. ready for a proper breakout season for oscar, hope to see demba mask given the opp to attack more. i like the looks of mourinho's 4-2-3-1 & even the 4-3-3 to provide for more attacking. great career backfielder but wouldn't mind seeing an ashley cole transfer for younger talent. his play fucks me off all too often. he brings value but i'm totally cool with another gruesome terry injury. just naturally hate his mug.
other bpl thoughts: when will michu leave endearing swansea? not a gunners fan but i like arsene and am excited to see chemistry & success for ozil/podolski/giroud. stacked for sure, but why isn't moyes playing ugawa at all? i really really really like sergio aguerro and wish he'd go to stamford bridge-i'd give up ramires.

going to try to watch more bundesliga & less la liga this year. serie a & their egregious racism can suck it. why can't they hide it better like other leagues? meatheads are meatheads but more so in italy.

talk to me?
