Welp, Amy Grant sez she's gonna do deep singer-songwriter stuff from here on, so her Greatest Hits is the end of her pop career.

Expect her to shack up with Thom Yorke by next spring.

especially the brit bands.

as you mentioned, travis and the verve. also: super furry animals, supergrass, placebo...a couple others i can't remember.

and of course they always throw in that "unreleased rare cut" that makes me actually contemplate buying them.

Yeah forgot about Amy and the Super Furries too. But the Super Furry disc isn't in the U.S. yet is it? I'd probably get it just for that "The Man Don't Give a Fuck" song.

Sixpence None the Richer - disbanded, but had three albums before they became famous. A body of working to draw from.

Creed - disbanded

Placebo - don't know. maybe to draw attention to a sometimes-neglected band.

On the racks, it'll look like they mattered.

(though, to tell you the truth, if they'd done more songs like "Amber," they might have)

I stand corrected. It's 17 years, not 21. They formed for a middle school talent show.
