I'm sure this is as unpubliczed as the FCC deregulation of media last year. This makes me sick.

I understand the American goverment has been putting alot of pressure on the UK and European goverments to extend their copyright protection to 95 years rather than the current 50 years. However so far, Europe has held firm on this and as of next year any music recorded up to 31st Jan 1954 will be public domain.

The really interesting thing about this is artists like Elvis (as of next year, and in a few years time people like The Beatles) will be effected and become public domain, at least in this country.
