LJ also only had like 3 good years, but he was as explosive as anyone for those years. man those years on the knicks were an indignity.

LJ made people think Converse was going to make a comeback as a shoe company. Webber will ALWAYS be that dude who called that TO. His reputation was pretty much made before he ever played in the League, and he didn't do much to dispel that.

I think LJ had a pretty serrous back injury, no?

i have another question that i want settled: who's the modern analogue of chris mullin? two time olympian, brilliant college career, amazing shooter, smart player, couldn't jump over a phone book or outrun a nun. is that kind of guy gone forever?

Good Question, jocko.

true. i was just thinking about it today, reminiscing about my favorite players as a kid and realizing just how stellar mullin's resume really was. guys like him, reggie miller, guys that were shifty and clutch but honestly no damned good, they were my favorite. i still want one of those "Run TMC" shirts though. still, i think that peja stojakovic may be the chris mullin UPGRADE. i wish that drazen petrovic had lived another half-hour though.

well, two things are for sure:
1)if there is a new Mullin, he's European. or South American (give it time)

2)there will never be anything remotely resembling the brilliance of Run TMC. Tim Hardaway was so badass in his prime. UTEP two-step all the way.

the UTEP two step could only be eclipsed by that crossover that AI flipped in that one commercial, but the nash-marion-stoudamire break is at least as fun to watch.

but what i don't understand, is why this warranted the biggest fine in NBA history. Don't people mouth off about refs all the time and just get fined like 5 grand? What makes this case so outstanding?

I couldn't give a fuck about basketball or the playoffs, but I will not stand idly by while you traffic in open misinformation.

Stern couldn't hold Tagliabue's jock, my man. Just witness this controversy, vs. Tags' and Co.'s masterful performance with the Congress (So good, you barely even noticed.)

I'm with Chase on this one, though the NBA seems like it doesn't have the attraction of the NFL or MLB.

I just want to know if this column by Bayless was serious or a joke?

Surprisingly, Newman disagrees with me.

There was something in another thread that I did agree with you on, I just didn't post anything about it and I forget what it was. So yeah.

And did you read that Bayless column? I guess someone noticed.
