For the longest time I had all of the Black Crowes in my primary collection; after a recent spate of album purchases, everything but 'Shake Your Moneymaker' has been relegated to my version of the bargain bin (actually a banker box).

Recent deletions have been Beastie Boys 'Hello Nasty' and 'Ill Communication', Radiohead 'Pablo Honey' and I've suspiciously eyeing a couple of Pearl Jam albums, like 'No Code' and The Replacements 'Don't Tell a Soul'.

The Locust- I never really thought they were that good or anything... got Plague Soundscapes used for a few bucks and got some 7"s because of the other band on 'em(AOR and Melt Banana). Regardless, I still have 3 releases of theirs.

Oh, believe me... I have most of her albums on cd, cd singles, imports, whatever. I'll probably never get rid of them because occasionally I do pull them out for a listen, and who knows... maybe some of it might be worth something one day.

Hell, I even bought 'American Life.' Who admits to THAT??? ;)

Good on ya. Grossly undermerited, they are. I don't put mine on that often anymore, but they're much more clever than they're given credit for generally.

Yeah but 'Introspective' 'Behaviour' the Hits CD and their B side box set is probably all that is required.

They got a bit tedious by the mid 90's, but I thought Release from 2002 was quite touching, personal and daring for them so late in their career. To put out a song-based (as opposed to sample/synth-based) record with direct and non-arch lyrics was very nice. And hardly anyone noticed. Except those that went "oh, they WERE gay all along, weren't they."

I'm not sure how a band with songs like "Suburbia" and "Left To My Own Devices" ever got labelled light-weight anyway, but I'm a rebel freak when it comes to hipsterism.

my 7" vinyl in general is under used but they come in real handy at the radio station. though now i'm starting to find my singles on mp3 so even the good wax is getting phased out. sometimes though i just gotta drop the needle

also, for some reason i have 3 Mark Eitzel cds. i like AMC but not his solo stuff. the fact that i paid 6 dollars total for all of them might have something to do with it.

I've got more Mogwai cd's than i probably need but every once in awhile i've got to hear some mogwai.

and

DJ Spooky - I like some of his stuff but not enough to warrant owning most things with his name on it. I made the first step to confronting my problem by giving my sister the Paul D. Miller album. It may have been great but i probably only listened to it twice. I haven't bought an ablum with his name on it in over a year. I think i may be cured.

Way too many to name. To give you a glimpse, here are a few: Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Eagles (god help me), Supertramp (I only have one but still), many, many more. As you can see I used to be WAY too into classic rock.

I have pretty much everything by Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd (including box sets though the Pink Floyd one at least LOOKS cool in a case), i couls survive on Animals, The Final Cut, III, and Physical Graffiti

I also have about 15 Butthole Surfers discs but i wouldnt give up even the ones i havent listened to in 5 years...

Actually i wouldnt give any of that shit up; thats why i vowed (in about 1993) to never sell CD's back; Fuck it, you might just make somebody's day when they are visiting sometime....

I wish I had never bought Love - Forever Changes

pink floyd. did i really need to get saucerful of secrets, ummagumma, and atom heart mother? i think the answer is no.

The only Pink Floyd albums I own real copies of are, for some reason, Saucerful of Secrets and Atom Heart Mother. I could do without either. The only Pink Floyd I ever want to listen to is Piper at the Gates of Dawn or Meddle. I've never had legit copies of either one.

But more relevant to this thread:

Led Zeppelin - I still like them, but hardly ever listen to them. I own all 8 studio albums, Coda, both box sets (stupidly redundant, I know), and 3 live albums (How the West Was Won, BBC Sessions, and I think I still have The Song Remains the Same somewhere). I bought nearly all of this in high school.

The Doors - I own all of their albums and the box set. The only ones I'd want to keep are the s/t and Strange Days.

Pearl Jam - I own Ten through Binaural plus a bunch of singles and the Live on Two Legs album. I could live with just No Code and Yield, I think.

Stereolab - I still like them a lot, but probably not enough to own like 12 records by them. The only band I own more stuff by is the Flaming Lips, and neither one of them is really my favorite band.
