Someone tivo'd a television series for me and burned it to a dvd. I ripped the dvd to my computer.

Now I have 5 video files.

I want to clip off the intro crap, and stuff at the end of the episode where he left it recording the next show.

Do any of you know any simple free programs that will do this little feature for me? I keep running into $40 software.

Why would I want to edit any of those videos....oh that's not a bad idea.

So I found this decent software that had a 30 day trial but now I have these mpeg files that my portable player won't play. Arrrrgh.
I think I now need to convert these mpeg to avi files.

Why is getting videos onto a portable device such a pain in the ass?
