Flacco & Bledsoe ranked under Romo, I can see, but Eli has done enough in the regular season, then as a road dog in the playoffs, to sit above Romo.

As it is, I think Romo's problem is where he started & his ceiling. I know people like Beltway insider & very serious person Gregggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg Easterbrook love to fetishize offensive linemen & small college types, & certainly some have gone on to much success in the pros (Pierre Garçon from Mount Union, Dave Kreig from a school that doesn't exist anymore), but the only reason they started their professional trajectory at the smaller campi is that the talent wasn't as abundant as it was for, say, Joe Montana (who, yes, was a third round pick, but, still, good enough, already, at 17 to get a scholarship to the University of Football & Popery in America, Notre Dame). So, while it's great that Romo has signed a multiyear, multimillions contract to play in the NFL, made Pro Bowl appearances, & shined in that one Monday Nite game at Buffalo, it doesn't take away from the fact he went to Eastern Illinois -- whose most notable previous QB was Chicago Replacement Bear Sean Peyton -- because his ceiling wasn't very high. (To think: Romo was a starter at Burlington High in Wisconsin, when the UW Badgers were ascendant (but with dogshit at QB (Brooks Bollinger, Jim Sorgi) yet Romo couldn't get a sniff from his State's flagship school.) So, like Kreig, Romo might end up a very competent QB, mostly, but starting from a lower setting, won't join the pantheon.

Meanwhile, two of this year's playoff QB whom the Easterbrook types fetishize for their low round pedigree & supposed gamer profile, Tom Brady & Russell Wilson, went to Michigan & NC State, with the former a matriculant at Junipero Serra before his college days & the latter a good enough athlete to be drafted to the pros in two sports. So, while sixth & third round by draft, they by far outdo the undrafted Eastern Illinois product Romo.

& that's ok.

That's definitely a real head scratcher.

They also fined Frank Gore $10.5K for wearing his socks too low in the NFC championship game.

I was hoping that Mayhem in the AM/Steve Gleason controversy would spill over into Obner.

I'm a fan and longtime listener of the show but it was a pretty stupid bit and I'm not surprised they got fired. The outrage in some corners is a bit much (especially among Saints fans--come the fuck on), but this is the way the world works. They'll be working again before long.

Yeah, that was the worst part, that the bit just wasn't funny. Offensive, of course, but they've done FAR worse (I think I remember a Terri Schiavo bit) and it was at least comical.

Meh. The ownership group of the station was looking for an excuse to dump them and they gave it to them.

I think the station's days are numbered. At least in it's current format.

Getting moreso by the minute, it seems.

As for the Gleason thing, I think it was in bad taste and uncalled for. I'm not losing my mind over it, though.

Well, maybe they'll use Tebow in Hernandez's spot when they drop him.

This Hernandez situation should distract some attention from the Bengals for a good while.

You have to admit, Boston has been due for some sports heartache for a while now.

I think we've gotten our fair share of it with the shittyness of the Red Sox the last two seasons and the Pats inability to win a Super Bowl since 2004.
