Is this email a genuine inquiry? It seems a little fishy to me.

Why would it seem fishy?

You never know if it's real til you take the time and find out. Email the girl back.

Maybe she really does want a copy, who knows.

Prolly legit. Unfortunately shitty spelling is indicative of nothing in this day and age.

probbably hoping you'd offer a free copy...

obviously if she could seek out your email via your site or something, she could investigate on how to get her own copy by buying it...

speaking of... Lemur/Matt, if you read this, how can i get a copy of Benny Girl.... sick of borrowoing my friends copy all the time!!

Next thing you know, she'll want to meet you. Then she'll drug you, steal your kidneys and sell them on the black market.

The wording does seem slightly fishy to me - and I don't mean because she's talking about Post Office - but maybe she's really young and this is her first attempt at a business communication.

That's the line that's fishy, radcliffe. Why not just burn a copy for yourself if you are borrowing your friend's copy?

Shall I provide it on a file-sharer?

I don't really believe in selling the damn thing and the new one isn't "officially" in production yet. How about I just make a nice sequence out of the ten tracks and throw it up on slsk or cactus for you and any other interested parties who are interested in partying?

But it's Post Office CDs plural - which suggests a) she has more than one friend with the PO disc, or b) she has a friend who owns multiple copies of the disc. Either way, she'd know exactly where to find the CD if she really wanted to buy it.

I got one of these about Hop on Pop, too (I think even for Lo-fi...). It's a template. I think there are some folks who just try to collect as many obscure CDs as they can for free.

I don't think they do any harm, but... hell I have no idea what their deal is.

Or you could just email her back and say that Fables in Slang is at Reckless right now.

(I saw it as I was trying to kill time browsing through the records plus Joseph was standing right behind me and I was trying really hard not to be a nervous dork)
