Frightening as it may seem I've totally fallen for Kelly Clarkson's Since You've Been Gone. I can't remember a pop radio song being so good. What's her deal?

Isn't she the girl who won the very first American Idol? Sorry, but I'll reserve my guitly pleasures for the Scissor Sisters and Junior Senior.

She looks really good now. Her label probably forced her to lose a bunch of weight so her stuff would sell better.

I haven't heard the tune you speak of.

my guilty pleasure from last year (i think) was christina aguilera's "stripped", altho the guilt's more symbolic than felt.

I go through two boxes of Apple Cinnamon Cherio's a week now...

That my main pleasure in life.

I've never listened to Avril but I've heard the song is identical to her stuff. I also heard that on the album she works with some of Evanescence's collaborators.

I guess I have no reason to be upset, she's famous for imitating others.

You sound shocked. Look at all the diva wanna-be's that get boob jobs while they're still in their teens. I doubt there's someone pointing a gun to their heads, but obviously there is a lot of pressure from the labels for these girls to have a certain look. I've never seen what Kelly looked liked before, or after, but it's a sad fact she'll sell more records if she fits a certain mold.

I'm not shocked, I'm further disgusted by industry standards that dictate you must look a certain way to sing well.

Ahh yes, but the men are allowed to be ugly and they'll still sell a lot of records.

Which is the only way to explain the successes of Fred Durst.

But the women, they all have to fit the ideals of the 50something aged record execs that run the show. They want the women to all resemble the stripper gf's of these men.

when i become a pop icon i think i'm going to get all those surgeries... but be a by-night arsonist so itll be awesome that i'm like, yknow, perfect but underneath i feel so ugly that i have to set fire to things. the chief deputy of the police department will follow my case AND be a big fan of my music, so when he discovers it's me who's responsible for all these blazes, he'll be in a serious moral conundrum... until i set fire to my record labels' building and he knows everybody's gonna be putting 2 and 2 together ("of course katie hasty did it! take away her grammies!") and will feel bad that he's not doing anything about it. then i'm gonna get put in jail for arson but make a great record like that band from airheads. 's gonna be sweet.

I seem to remember most of Edinburgh's Old Town burning down just as you left for the airport. Hmmm, wait a minute!

It doesn't piss me off (I have more important things to get pissed off at...like, why assholes cut me off on the road), it just annoys me.
